The Maker
From Qingyang to Jingdezhen, giving animal character lasting form in clay.
Wang Heng is from Huan County, Qingyang, Gansu, and is now based in Jingdezhen. His original animal sculptures focus on wildlife and dogs, each built entirely by hand. He preserves the sandy texture, cracks, and fingertip marks of coarse clay.
Rather than pursuing smooth, uniform surfaces, he finds individual character in ears, eyes, posture, and layered fur. Each sculpture carries a quiet, direct, and unrepeatable sense of life.

Preserve the hand
