Meet the Maker
The Maker
From Chaozhou to Jingdezhen, giving everyday vessels a lighter rhythm.
Wu Xihong is from Chaozhou, Guangdong. He moved to Jingdezhen in 2011 and founded his own studio, where he has continued to design and make functional ceramics by hand.
He throws each piece himself, preserving chattering, incised marks, and the natural movement of clay without over-trimming or decorating. Colored clay beads become points, carved lines create direction, and the vessel becomes the plane, bringing a clean contemporary character to traditional forms.
