Vintage Cup

This handleless tumbler, hand-thrown and fired from coarse pottery, is like a 360-degree miniature animal gallery that fits in the palm of your hand, showcasing the series' iconic dog-themed pottery painting to its fullest. The cup body is made from rustic, iron-rich coarse pottery clay. Artisans have meticulously carved grid sections on the outer wall, resembling vintage photo frames, and hand-painted a unique dog portrait in each grid. Oatmeal white, caramel brown, and soot black slips collide in layers on the hand-pinched, undulating texture, capturing the dogs' slightly weathered, innocent, and persistent gazes with remarkable precision amidst the mottled, unglazed matte finish. The bottom of the cup intentionally retains an unglazed coarse pottery foot, while the inner wall is covered with a thick, deep caramel crystalline glaze, giving it a rich, profound, and tranquil antique and Wabi-sabi aesthetic.
