Fox Terrier Sculpture

This completely handmade, hand-sculpted full-body sculpture of a rough ceramic Wire Fox Terrier captures the breed's inherent pride, alertness, and charming innocence with explosive expressionistic artistry. The artisan used speckled oatmeal-colored coarse ceramic clay rich in iron minerals, deliberately eschewing all smoothness and regularity. Instead, they repeatedly patted, pressed, and hand-pulled irregular bits of clay, layering them to build up that iconic shaggy, unruly long fur, as if bristling with wire. Amidst this vibrant "messy hair" of clay, the puppy's mouth is slightly ajar, revealing a moist, pink little tongue, and its round, black eyes sparkle with innocence and joy.
